NASA’s newest astrophysics observatory is on its way to study the origins of our universe and the history of galaxies and to search for the ingredients of life in our galaxy. 🚀 SPHEREx lifted off at 8:10 p.m. PDT on March 11 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Teams have received full acquisition of signal from the observatory, indicating that the spacecraft is functioning nominally and is power positive. It will begin its two-year prime mission after a roughly one-month checkout period, during which engineers and scientists will make sure the spacecraft is working properly. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gniNJE_i
It was great to watch last night. We were’n’t sure if we would be able to see it through the clouds. Very cool.
Curious what's next
Congratulations to the team - GO JPL!!!

I'm asking you Guys. My fishing buddy worked there. You know. He brings breakfast, and I make us a lunch. He's The Project Manager for our next cruise missile, said then they where working on different fuels. Said, all I can Tell you. Guys, the lady who used to run the largest defense contractor in the world, Called ME, SWEETHEART, on Linkedin. Fished with my other dear friend a Nobel Winner, He said on the way to work he hit a donkey in the hills. It ended up in the back of his convertible. Is that even possible? Oh, wait. I was fishing with the a VP for Airbus in Europe. I remember now. He fly over in his G8? He has the same Birthday as my Best friend I grew up with. They worked together. Wrong fishing partner. The other guy's got a bunch of names I found out. My Dad actually had a, RED PHONE, on his desk at home. No dial. There's a very nice lady at the CIA on the other end. She never told my Parents we talked. My friend never finished our High School. He handled the money for 7 VPs for the largest defense contractor in the world. Smart ass. I think the donkey thing is real. God Bless all you Guys. Thank you for your time.
