“What legacy do you want to leave?”
This is one of the above the line questions that are so much more important to determine before the below the line technical strategies and solutions get discussed. Legacy planning will replace the term “estate planning” because it starts with the passing of family values, aspirations, dreams of how to make a high impact difference in your community and world, etc. more so than leading with taxes , trusts, titling, and all things technical. The great work of the Comnunity Foundation is that it brilliantly does both… but starts with the heart.
What legacy do you want to leave? Genevieve Falk had a love for and commitment to the arts in Jackson. She left a bequest to CFM to benefit five arts organizations—Ballet Mississippi, Mississippi Museum of Art, Mississippi Opera Association, Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, and New Stage Theatre. All organizations she supported during her lifetime.

As well as being Exeter Northcott’s welcome return to home-produced drama, The Commotion Time will also be the first production directed for the theatre by our new Creative Director, Martin Berry.

100 Seats for Misfits: Do you have your ticket?
I loved how Myah described her Company: 'It's a training ground for the misfit.' A misfit is someone who does not fit easily within a particular group or environment—I’ve been a misfit all my life. What about you? A misfit is someone whose behavior or attitudes differ from the norms of the group they are in, making them stand out or sometimes feel out of place. I bet you have felt out of place at one point or another too. I don’t call myself the 'accidental banker' because I fit perfectly in this world—I am a misfit.
Isn’t it great when you find a group, an organization, or a friend where being yourself is celebrated? That’s exactly what they are doing with this program. I call this kind of program a training ground for the underdog. I refer to this type of effort as 'the but for.' But for an initiative like this, people who are looking to find their way wouldn’t get the exposure that could be the tipping point directing them toward their purpose!
I, for one, am all for giving people platforms and positioning them to reach the next level. I want to celebrate these ‘misfits’—will you join me? The auditorium holds 100 people—let’s pack it! The ABTT Outreach & Visibility Working Group would like to make you aware of the government's recently launched major review into the National Curriculum.
This is our moment in the creative sector to stress the importance of access to the arts and in particular, that all young people receive a well-rounded arts education which includes engagement with theatres and live events venues.
A consultation is now live which closes on the 22nd November 2024 and it would be great if as many organisations as possible could respond to the call for evidence.
The call for evidence is structured through an online form which contains 54 questions. You can skip the questions that are not relevant and the questions most relevant to our sector is question 31. The survey questions are focussed on the curriculum, assessment, and accountability however question 54 does also give space for more broader / general comments.

For this year's celebration, it will be a little more comfortable... 🤩
One hundred years after the first season, the Welttheater Einsiedeln will be staged as an open-air theater for the 17th time in 2024.
For the 100th anniversary, there will be covered grandstands for the audience for the first time. These are currently being erected by our crew members in front of the baroque monastery church ⛪ 🛠️.
They are nimble. Every move is perfect, and the grandstands are growing day by day, as you can see in the following video 😊
