Groot Handelsgebouw is helping reshape Rotterdam’s fossil fuel past, leading the way toward a more sustainable future. Built in 1953 as a symbol of post-war reconstruction, the 450-tenant building now supports an ecosystem of climate-tech companies. Since acquiring the property in 2019, Jamestown has focused on advancing sustainability efforts—replacing heat pumps, opening new greenspace to the public, and bringing together businesses in climate technology and sustainability to support collaboration and growth.
