Douglas Fajardo It was fantastic to have you and Dr. Tanya Beauregard present at the conference, as well as Xennial (VR/AR) and Tiffen Baker exhibiting again. I was also really happy to have Tanya's colleagues from Northwest Florida State College join as well. They were fantastic contributors to the conversation.
Last week at the IVRHA (International Virtual Reality and Healthcare Association) 9th Annual Conference, Dr. Tanya Beauregard (Director of Nursing) and I had the opportunity to present a preview of the collaborative work we're building between the School of Nursing at Northwest Florida State College and Xennial (VR/AR). Our work focuses on the core elements of #nurse student training, such as nurse-patient communication, proper use of equipment, and patient interactions. The key elements presented from our collaborative work were: 1. Converging #AI and #VR to create effective conversations and natural interactions between nurse students and virtual patients 2. Creating a scalable architecture to build a growing library of nurse-patient scenarios 3. Implementing comprehensive hand tracking capabilities to replicate real-life procedures for highly effective learning Below is a video of the work we presented at the conference. Special thanks to Dr. Charlotte Kuss, Dean of the School of Nursing, for her leadership in making this vision a reality, and to Michele Reed, Sr Subject Matter Expert at the School of Nursing, for her guidance and expertise throughout the project.
