As communicators, it can be challenging to effectively counteract the disrespect and demonization of some social groups, especially during an election season. Existing narratives are often heightened, exacerbating harmful thinking that promotes prejudice, like ageism or anti-immigrant bias. But we know that framing can help us tell more humanizing stories. Check out episode 3 of our new video series, “Election Year Framing” to learn more:

Various news stories play out during a campaign. Political teams like to see any negative news/stories to come out early so they can react to them in time to change the narrative. The negative stories about Biden are coming out early including after a so called horrific debate performance. There is plenty of time to change the narrative. One good thing about negative stories is that political teams can find out where they are weak, including with their stakeholers, surrogates and staff. They can find out where media stands on their race or bias and utilize that later to their advantage. In national races, the perspectives of international leaders and countries and those of individuals from around the country also need to be considered and evaluated. Strong teams and candidates are able to figure out ways to change the narrative to their advantage. As media love to continue to play the horse race, it's important to provide them with continuous PR. Building off bad PR can actually strengthen a campaign. All races have hiccups. When you have a candidate like Biden's predecessor any dissension could be catastrophic and extend out quickly. The Democrats on the other hand are more likely to have any dissension early and be able to gel back into a stronger force. #elections2024 #bidenharrisadministration #debates #campaigns #democrats https://lnkd.in/e8npfhJt
