Meeting people where they are.
Was a common theme discussed at the Women’s Health in the Workplace National Symposium this week.
The Economic Alliance for Michigan did an excellent job creating an open space for leaders to have vulnerable conversations around women’s health issues and 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠.
These types of 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 are becoming more valuable given the 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 with others in meaningful ways.
𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘺𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘯:
>> Allowing people to be 𝐎𝐊 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞.
>> Helping to creating 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬.
>> Creating a 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠.
>> Re-igniting a 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞.
>> Reducing 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬.
>> Making the fact that 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 – OK in the workplace.
>> Raising one’s 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠.
>> 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲.
>> Health care 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
>> 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞.
