Will you be as lucky as Gareth Southgate? Well, what can I say… I haven’t been that stressed watching a football game in at least 4 years. I am still not convinced by this England teams’ play style, and I think we are riding our luck every time we take the field. Although we have an outstanding abundance of individual talent and the leadership team clearly believe in their process. Although results continue to go in our favour…. just, there is a huge risk every time we continue to play in the same way. Surplus Asset Disposal is no different… You may have a route that continues to work…. just, but fail to realise how close to disaster you may be or understand what you may be missing out on. Your current processes may require no effort or care but is it worth getting caught offside? Challenge IDS to audit your Asset Disposal Procedures (initial consultation is free of charge) and we guarantee if we can’t improve it, we will happily say so. Get in touch to find out how we can minimise risk, guarantee compliance and maximise your returns for surplus assets. Call Ben on +44 (0) 7891 640 307 or email ben@i-disposals.com P.S. Board Performance A great opportunity - thank you to Dr. Peter Crow and Gail Creighton-Davies FGIA Board Craft - taking the journey from “me to “us” to “stewardship”. Successful boards focus on : 1. Alignment of strategy 2. Relationships between boards and executives - fostered by psychological safety. 3. Board engagement - fostered by psychological safety. Biggest issue for boards: passiveness. A board needs to be active … steer, guide and pilot. A balance between conformance and performance. Where does it begin? better conversations. What do we get wrong? Board evaluations that do not focus on behaviours, dynamics and psychological safety. For right type of board evaluations that go beyond WHS compliance and into thriving performers please talk to People Plus Science
Huge thanks to Dr. Peter Crow for generously sharing his time in whistle stop trip to Brisbane. The conversation was incredible, Peter challenged us to look to performance, alignment of purpose, understanding of the role, clarity of information requirements in the papers and cognitive diversity at the Board. Key takeaways include #Boardcraft - The art of board work; it's not science it's about people. Recognising that the Board is a group of people who are gathering together and as such they will bring their expertise, experiences, their challenges and biases, as humans they may also bring the things which have occurred that day in the run up to that meeting. The word “Governance” has a rich history tracing back to its Greek origins of steering guiding and piloting (to some goal / purpose). Therefore, the Job of the board is to make big and strategic decisions to guide and steer the organisation towards it's strategy, it’s Performance. This is a balance, and if the majority of focus is on conformance then the Board misses the opportunity to steer towards performance. Huge thanks to Great Southern Bank for welcoming us into their home. Governance Institute of Australia and Australian Institute of Company Directors for your support. Interested in understanding why FSP are different and what attracted me to join them 6 months ago (wow, that went quickly!), then this is the perfect video to watch. #PurposeDriven #values #WinningBehaviours #HumanCentredTransformation
Recently, Simon Grosse sat down with Sir Clive Woodward to discuss the creation of our One FSP Playbook - a comprehensive guide to our purpose, values and the key actions and behaviours we can all expect from one another, our ‘Winning Behaviours’. We spent over six months developing our Playbook with the support of Sir Clive and his team. Since its official launch in June, the Playbook has already become an essential resource for day-to-day operations, new starters and future teams, encapsulating the principles that drive our success and commitment to excellence. Sir Clive’s inspiring talk on ‘Teamship & Winning Behaviours’ at our Unity event last year, resonated deeply with our purpose of being a world-class, high-performing organisation founded on a culture of belonging, which led to the creation of our One FSP Playbook. In the full video linked below, Simon Grosse and Sir Clive delve into the initial leadership workshops that laid the foundation for our inaugural set of Winning Behaviours. They discuss how we gathered feedback from across the business and distilled it into 14 powerful themes or Winning Behaviours. They also explore the compelling parallels between teamship in sports and in business. Listen here: https://lnkd.in/eJRTr4v5 Version with subtitles here: https://lnkd.in/eE6hGgg7 Read more about and view the accessible One FSP Playbook here: https://lnkd.in/eNqvfGma To Sir Clive and team, your close support, insights and challenge in creating our Winning Behaviours has been extremely valuable and much appreciated. We also extend our gratitude to our design partners, EllisJames Creative, and our videography partners, MWS Media, for bringing this vision to life. #FSP #OneFSPPlaybook #Culture #Video #BestCompanyToWorkFor #WinningBehaviours #Teamship

What a cracking yarn! Craig Mcrae is my go to all things leadership (of those in the public eye and are not fictional, sorry Gandalf) but Billy's gonna have to join the club! A few wisdom bombs that resonated for me. Earning it... huge yes! Earn would have to be one of my favourite words. One of the big reasons I was, and am still, so drawn to PR. I love how he spoke about earning rather than winning. Such a good mindset. IMO winning is hollow if you don't earn it and the real victory is in the journey rather than the outcome. It's knowing that you've put in the effort to deserve to win regardless of the result. Balancing feeback Great discussion in this ep about laying the ground work to give honest feedback. If the only time you ever speak with someone is to tell them how they could do it better it puts the work ahead of the person. Doing awesome stuff for others I loved his story about gifting Hugh a personalise QLD jumper, actually, I love their whole flipping friendship. But that specifically, such a great moment of empathy and really going the next level to demonstrate how much he cares about people. I reckon he felt like a legend in that moment 😉 Yarnberg Entertainment No surprises to see how well QLD are going when they've got a legend like this at the wheel. Big love to The Resilience Project, the guys and Bridget Northeast for an inspiring ep, give it a listen below 👏 #leadership #legends #empathy #earnit https://lnkd.in/gjj-DRtB
