A do NOT agree! Well, maybe 5% percent: Don't knowingly give toxic/abusive people information you know they will use to hurt you. Outside of that, I am 100% against a secretive culture. What if you are struggling and need help? I actually think it's better to NOT keep it a secret. That "keep it to ourselves" mentality plagued my family, and many others, for decades. It also enables predatory/abusive behavior, enabling it to continue until someone finally speaks up. My advice has always been: If you are struggling, and need help... reach out to ANYONE capable of helping until you finally get the help you need AND DESERVE. I'd rather be embarrassed and get the help, than to appear perfect and remain in agony. If my embarrassment gets me out of Hell one year, one month, or one day sooner, then it was worth it. Realizing areas of weakness shows SELF AWARENESS/GROWTH. And it is POWERFUL/COURAGEOUS to seek help despite knowing the risks/fears involved. Whether at work, home, or in your community, wherever you are: If a supportive environment does not exist, YOU CAN CREATE ONE and be the HERO that someone needs. I've noticed that this new generation (Gen Z) doesn't care about "status quo". They want a healthy environment and are not backing down! IMO, that IS ADMIRABLE!!!
