IMDEA Materials Institute’s Post

🤖 In our latest post introducing each of our 17 research groups, we present our Micromechanics and Nanomechanics team led by Dr. Jon Molina. The current research efforts of the M&N team include the development of metamaterials and smart materials by additive manufacturing for biomedical applications, including Ti, Mg, Zn and TiNi-based devices. Some examples include the additive manufacturing of shape-morphing biodegradable metallic scaffolds for tissue engineering and the development of a new generation of smart and personalised stents for cardiovascular applications. Our Micromechancis and Nanomechanics group currently includes postdoctoral researchers, Dr. Miguel Monclus, Dr. Muzi Li and Dr. Juan Guillermo Santos Macías, alongside predoctoral researchers Ignacio Escobar Moreno, Oscar Contreras, Mª Teresa Nieto Valeiras, Guillermo Domínguez López, Jorge Redondo Sánchez, Lola Martin Alonso, Arley Garcia Carrero and Giovanni Ortiz Perez. The group recently said farewell to former member, Dr. Jesús Ordoño, PhD, also pictured.
