Craig Metcalfe of Illuminex AI is thrilled to be participating in HANNOVER MESSE 2025 in Germany, exploring new international markets with our Canadian Delegation!
What a remarkable and optimistic opening ceremony in Germany for HANNOVER MESSE 2025, the world's largest technology and advanced manufacturing, with Canada as the partner country. As a Canadian, it was so gratifying to hear from German political and industry leadership the depth of commitment in Europe to collaboration and friendship with Canada, and recognition of its sovereignty and geographical integrity. So many speakers echoed that "Canada is the most European of Non-European countries." German Chancellor Olaf Scholf highlighted that the future for European-Canadian industrial and trade relations is bright! The central theme of HANNOVER MESSE this year is Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in advanced manufacturing. WHAT A GREAT THEME FOR THE RESEARCH AND INNOVATION STRENGTHS OF Ontario Tech University. The awarding of the Hermes Prize for innovation to Siemens for its new platform Industrial Copilot, developed in collaboration with Microsoft and AMS, is ground breaking. Siemens CEO Roland Busch provided a vision of what AI in advanced manufacturing will look like. For our Ontario Tech University team here in Hannover, it is an opportunity to connect with many of our existing industry partners (including Siemens) and build new relationships for research and innovation across Europe.
