Gender Lens: I've been selfish lately and leaning long on the fact that I am a Woman. Thus, this original National Organization for Women member is back assessing daily living, barriers, needs, solutions and opportunities for deserved but underserved women and girls. At this point of my personal journey back from "Woe-man" to "I am Woman, Hear me Roar," I'm yelping about the delight of discovering a variety of existing organizations and specific grant sources dedicated to assisting Chicagoland women and girls with specific issues. One organization with active NOFOs: Chicago Foundation for Women. Advocates, there's an opportunity to apply by the February deadline for funding of female-forward charity efforts next summer. Do the paperwork, then let's sister-up for service in the field! About CFO: Since 1985, Chicago Foundation for Women has invested more than $50 million through over 5,000 grants, annually impacting 226,000 women, girls, trans, and gender nonbinary individuals across the Chicago region, so they are healthy, safe, and economically secure. Nearly four decades later, CFW continues to be the only organization in the region to take a comprehensive approach to understand and address the issues impacting Chicago-area women, girls, trans, and gender nonbinary individuals. #nonprofits #womensissues #equalopportunity #chicago #womensupportingwomen #atrisk #underserved #marginalized

If the current inspection regime is replaced by a published school report card, then that is likely to include disadvantage gap measures, particularly as (modest, slow) progress in narrowing it has reversed since 2014 & the pandemic has exacerbated this “burning injustice” (Remember May?) The Education Policy Institute, leaders in this area of research, suggest that recovering the earlier position will take a decade. There’s never been a more pressing need to engage with the evidence around what makes the biggest difference to the outcomes of pupils living in poverty. This report makes seven recommendations, based on a comparison between schools that were successful in closing the gap and those with large gaps. (All of them are ‘Good’ or better) Some fascinating insights, especially around behaviour & the roles that the successful schools invest in.

Hi nonprofit friends! Have you checked to see if your work at a nonprofit in Washington State in 1. Adult Educational Opportunities 2. Youth Mental Health or 3. Mitigating the Impact of Climate Change qualifies you for a potential grant from the Washington Women's Foundation? If so, this is too good to pass up! Why? 1. The LOI is MUCH faster and more straightforward than a typical grant application. 2. Grants are unrestricted funds. That's right, friends. Use the money to keep the lights on, pay staff or other needs that may not qualify for other funding. 3. I'm a superfan of this organization that is always working to serve the community better and truly listens and implements feedback from the nonprofit community. Details below to apply. The deadline is coming up quickly! #nonprofit #wanonprofit #nonprofitfunding #wawf #givebackseattle #giveback #nonprofitgrant
