Air connectivity within Latin America will increase with a new service beggining today. A new air service has been established with the launch of a direct flight between Brazil and Costa Rica, connecting GRU Airport - Aeroporto Internacional de São Paulo in São Paulo with AERIS Holding Costa Rica Holding in Costa Rica - SJO. As a proud Costa Rican, I am thrilled to have participated in the inaugural northbound flight ceremony. My gratitude extends to Rafael A. and GOL Linhas Aéreas for the invitation. This development presents a unique opportunity for both Brazil and Costa Rica, countries renowned for their immense tourism potential (EMBRATUR - Brazilian Tourist Board and Instituto Costarricense de Turismo) and burgeoning business prospects (Promotora del Comercio Exterior de Costa Rica (PROCOMER) CADEXCO Cámara de Exportadores de Costa Rica, with the reestablishment of direct air services for the first time this century. A flight to São Paulo serves as a gateway to Brazil via its largest city, while on the flip side, Brazilian companies can leverage Costa Rica's strategic location, skilled workforce, and the benefits of nearshoring. As previously stated, this presents a unique chance to bolster the economic and social bonds between the two nations.
