In another key focus area, led by CEA-Irig and supported by Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin and EPFL, researchers are working on system integration to design a 500 cm² photocatalytic reactor capable of operating autonomously for 500 hours. Using advanced multi-physical modelling and innovative reactor designs, this work addresses efficiency challenges and establishes a foundation for scalable hydrogen production. Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe 2024   Our colleague Dr. Joachim von Schnitzler will give a presentation at the CCS Conference of this year's Hydrogen & Carbon Capture Technology Expo Europe 2024 in Hamburg on the topic “Is CCS Feasible in the German North Sea? Insights from the German-Funded GEOSTOR Project”.   Summary:   CCS and CCUS have faced resistance in Germany for years, and legislation prohibits sequestration in #onshore and #offshore formations. Nevertheless, since the #IPCC considers CCS necessary, Germany wants to contribute to European efforts. Since mid-2021, the German government has been funding the CDRmare campaign with over €20 million. The aim of the GEOSTOR project is to assess the feasibility of CCS in the German North Sea. Fichtner is a partner of GEOSTOR and is responsible for technology and cost aspects.   The Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe 2024 will take place on October 23-24, 2024 at the #Hamburg Messe. This event is a leading conference and exhibition exclusively dedicated to advanced technologies for the #hydrogen and fuel cell industries.
