NGIF Accelerator has announced a grant funding contribution of $918,000 to member Aurora Hydrogen. This builds on an initial $150,000 funding to support the development of their microwave pyrolysis process for low-carbon distributed hydrogen production. The project aims to provide a low-cost, zero-emission method to produce hydrogen from methane gas. Aurora Hydrogen, a Global Cleantech Challenge finalist, has created a technology that uses microwave energy to turn methane into hydrogen and solid carbon without the generation of carbon dioxide. The process has a >95% conversion rate, lowering the environmental impact of traditional hydrogen production methods and allowing for scalable production facilities.
