For months leading up to the Fun Fair, our youth were creating, building, decorating / painting and preparing for the incredible event that we had last weekend. This is just one moment of mentoring that was captured - Mike teaching Darren how to cut these boards to build our Animal Races game (used by the Pregnancy Care Center). Every project we do, starts with mentors teaching youth HOW to do ordinary things that can be used in extraordinary ways. Learn how to use this saw....to build something remarkable....And this skill will carry over when you have your own home and business. Learn how to write a grant...and watch it transform into an annual community event that in year 4 will gather 1,000+ people in our neighborhood and give them a taste of how awesome our city is and how incredible our young leaders are. It's way more than learning how to build a game. It's building confidence, self-esteem and filling your tool belt with resources that will change your daily life to reach healthy adulthood. -Gardening, Cooking -Building Trades -Education, Support -Work Readiness MENTORING MULTIPLIES. Mentoring someone, multiplies time, skills, and ultimately IMPACT in our community. Building a Tribe of Mentors to bring Restoration to Rockford....well, that brings THE BEST Return on your invest. ...But we can't bring Restoration to Rockford, without Rockford Investing in a Tribe of Mentors. Everyone wants a better Rockford. They see young people leading destructively and dangerously. BUT those same youth are Not a problem to be solved. They are our solution. Imagine the transformation that would take place when they have mentors to walk alongside them, direct them, care for them. Speak into them when their identity is lost in a million directions- Mentors remind them who they really are and what they are capable of. You have a choice. You can complain about the crime in our city. Or you do can do something about it to make an IMPACT. You can become a Mentor OR You can invest in the mission of building a Tribe of Mentors by making a monthly donation. At the heart of the WardBoy Project (WBP) lies a steadfast commitment to transforming the lives of today’s Bay Area's youth. They endeavor to be a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change by offering a suite of resources, programs, and opportunities meticulously designed to nurture personal and academic growth. WBP empowers young individuals to unlock their full potential, fostering a culture of wise decision-making, resilience, and holistic well-being. By embedding the core principles of success into the fabric of their lives, we aim to pave pathways to prosperity, ensuring that the youth we touch are poised for a future replete with possibilities and achievements. The WardBoy Project works to help today’s youth with the resources they need to succeed in life personally and professionally. WBP strives to help 100,000 students, ages 8 through 18, prepare for success academically, athletically, and socially by providing educational tools, life skills, and mentorship over the next 5 years, so they can develop the discipline and balance needed to tackle any challenges they may face. We do this by activating 10 WardBoy Project Mentoring Programs by collaborating with local schools and community-based organizations, hosting 20 Ward Boy Camps, and 5 educational symposiums within 5 years to impact an additional 50,000 people looking for the inspiration needed to succeed in life. PARENTS OF COLLEGE-BOUND STUDENTS: I offer a two-hour mother/daughter seminar for H.S. senior girls and their moms covering a myriad of potential safety concerns -- including protests/activism on campus, whether your daughter encounters such events or is potentially drawn into them. Where are the boundaries of concern? While I 'can' do the same as a father/son seminar with this and associated issues covered, the interest remains with the mother/daughter event -- but I 'can' do the same for the guys. This can be done in private home settings or larger settings. For #nonprofits, I also offer this as a fundraising event with 50/50 split for ticket sales. I've also had #insurancecompanies #insurancebrokers sponsor/host this for such personal lines clients as a value-add, if interested. The key is training *BEFORE* they encounter these and other potentially volatile situations while away. More info in the link below.
