On 25 March and 8 April, Caroline Levesque, partner at our Lyon/Paris offices and President of the ‘AI & Copyright’ question for the French group of AIPPI, together with Charles-Antoine JOLY as Rapporteur, discussed with the French group of AIPPI the question that will be debated at the AIPPI World Congress in Yokohama, Japan, this September. ❓ Questions surrounding artificial intelligence (AI) and copyright have emerged as critical topics of global concern. As AI technologies continue to evolve, their ability to generate creative works—such as text, images, music, and videos—has sparked intense debates about intellectual property rights. Many AI systems rely on vast datasets that may include copyrighted works without proper authorization, raising legal questions about consent: this will be the purpose of the discussion of this essential question at the congress in September.
