🇧🇪 The latest BeMob survey by SPF Mobilité et Transports reveals how Belgians are getting around in 2024. Here are some key insights: 🚲 Walking and driving remain the most common modes of transport. However, public transport and cycling are the two main alternatives to the car. While more people use public transport occasionally, bikes are used more frequently by regular users. 📈 E-bike usage is booming! The share of e-bike users riding at least a few times per year increased from 24% to 29% between 2022 and 2024. Weekly e-bike users grew from 14% to 16%. 🌍 Regional differences are striking: 71% of people in Flanders cycle, while 72% of people in Wallonia do not. In Flanders, bikes are mainly used for commuting, whereas in Wallonia they are mostly used for leisure. 👌 Cycling is seen as affordable, healthy, environmentally friendly, and enjoyable. All good reasons to encourage its adoption!
