Today marks the end of an incredible chapter as I bid farewell to Perisian Huda. The past 10 months have been an amazing journey of growth and learning as we worked on building Mushafi, a Quran mobile application powered by AI. --- As a Product Designer responsible for the UX, strategy, and growth of Mushafi, I had the privilege to: 1. Collaborate with diverse roles, including Data Engineers, ML Engineers, and App Developers. 2. Launch impactful features like Recite with AI, Memorization Checker with AI, Follow After Qari, and Media Creator. 3. Design for multiple languages, including Arabic and Bahasa, ensuring accessibility for diverse users. 4. Optimize Mushafi for various platforms, including tablets and web. 5. Completely redesign the user experience to align with Material and Apple Design Guidelines, especially for our iOS launch (coming very soon :D). 6. Analyze data using Google Play Console and Firebase to uncover insights about our users. --- Here’s what we achieved together: 1. Increased user acquisitions by 864.2% in just six months, now with over 100K active users and an 82.6% engagement rate. 2. Boosted and maintained a 4.8 rating (with nearly 400 reviews) on the Google Play Store. 3. Welcomed users from more than 80 countries, especially in the Arab region. --- Key lessons I learned along the way: 1. Designing the UX of AI Creating user-friendly AI features involves understanding the technical accuracy of models and addressing biases related to culture, background, age, and gender. These factors profoundly impact user experience. 2. Less is More Users value simplicity. By focusing on the features they love most and removing less-used functionalities, we built a product that truly resonates. Data-informed decisions and testing are key to achieving this balance. --- As I look ahead, I’m excited to explore new opportunities where I can bring my passion for design and problem-solving to a dynamic team as a Product Designer or UX Designer. If you know of any openings, I’d appreciate your support in connecting me with relevant opportunities. --- P.S. I’ll definitely miss our weekly company lunches! :D #UXDesign #OpenToWork #CareerGrowth #AIProductDesign

Do Good Work... As UX designers or professionals, the pay we receive for some projects doesn’t reflect the effort, or the work feels undervalued. But here’s the thing: every project is an opportunity. You never know where that “small” effort might lead. A well-done project today could be your stepping stone to a life-changing opportunity. Once you’re on a project, give it your ALL. Doing your best is more than delivering results; it’s about building a reputation for excellence and commitment. So this week, let’s commit to doing good work, no matter how big or small the project. Your effort today could be the seed for something extraordinary tomorrow. Have a blessed week. 𝗨𝗜 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 Today's design is for a movie/Cinema app. One thing about designing for Cinemas is to ensure that the seat arrangement on the app is the same with the actual cinema. With this in mind, the next thing is to simplify the user experience. Like, comment and repost. 💜 ----------------- 💜 Are you a recruiter seeking a talented UX designer? Two months ago, I tried to revive a fintech client but failed on the first try 👀 We ended the call with a promise to keep me updated if they had any difficult-to-fill positions. Three weeks ago, I received a call from them—they needed assistance with some roles. In my head, it was a YEY moment! BUT... The role was something I had never tackled before 😅 I could have passed the role internally but no one specializes in this field let alone the fintech industry Without any second thought, I accepted the challenge That weekend, I went home and studied the whole concept of UI/UX, from YouTube tutorials to asking friends at big tech companies Fast forward to last week, I closed the UX role in just 2 weeks The candidate mentioned she didn't feel like I was new to the assignment and thought I had been doing it for a while Looking back at my experiences as a recruiter, everything was new to me at some point—so what makes this situation any different? JUST DO IT! ✔

At Bonanza Studios | UX Design & App Dev we recently posted a job offer on LinkedIn. We've got over 100 applications. Here are 5 tips, on how to properly structure your job application: ❌ DO NOT USE CHAT GPT - Many applicants were rejected for using similar, AI-generated language. It's easy to spot, so keep it genuine - I don't even mind minor grammar mistakes. That's not a place to use AI - you can use it to get some inspiration or first message concept, but the final work needs to be original and unique to you. The same goes for your portfolio. 📚 READ THE ROOM CORRECTLY - Make sure your tone is based on the company size and their approach. For smaller and more agile teams like Bonanza, keep it short, honest, and to the point. Corporates may require more formal applications. ✨ PERSONALIZE - Mention specific points from the job offer and reference something unique about the company. It shows you’ve done your research. ✅ BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF - I would not rely on luck when applying - if the job is for a Mid-level designer with AT LEAST 2 years of experience, do not apply if you never worked professionally, and have only 1 or 2 projects in your portfolio. You're creating noise, and it harms people who actually can get the job. ⚡️ FIRST IMPRESSION MATTERS - Some folks sent their portfolios in PDFs, Figma files, or even PNG graphics. The recruiter needs to load or download, which takes time. Again, you need to differentiate yourself from others, and the best way is to create your portfolio website. This makes the recruiter's job much easier.
