You don’t have to be a manager to be a leader. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. These women are leading by example, and it is powerful. Celebrate each other’s success. Go to work everyday with a “you don’t have to lose for me to win” mentality. All of the women competing earned their right to be there, just like your coworkers. You can’t always be number one, and sometimes you learn more from the experience when you don’t make the podium. That is how you build high performing teams — by lifting each other up. #leadbyexample

The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) has marked an extraordinary milestone in the 2024 season, welcoming over 2 million fans through its gates—a league record. Attendance and viewership continue to soar each year, and with exciting plans for team expansions, the NWSL is on track to become the dominant force in women’s soccer worldwide. 👏 🎉 ⚽ ❗ Yet, a critical gap persists: 11 out of the 14 teams are still led by men in the head coaching role. I'm so proud of the work Athlete Ally is doing to champion the rights of all athletes to play the sport that they love. It's ironic that the paternalistic talking points of "it's not fair to women" seem to resonate far more than data and research on trans inclusion in sport, and on real barriers to women's athletic performance and participation. Athletes, scholars, researchers, equality organizations are all calling upon the NCAA to embrace inclusion - - and use facts and scientific research as the basis for their policy toward trans inclusion in sport. Here's what 400+ Olympians, paralympians, professional and college athletes said in their letter: "As athletes, we have dedicated our lives to sports. Sports have given us our greatest friends, taught us incredible life lessons, and given us the confidence and drive to succeed in the world. We know that the value of sport goes far beyond the playing field. Sport allows people to develop a sense of self and identity and to reflect what we value as a community. Sport is a tremendous enabler of physical and mental health, teaches valuable lessons on teamwork and discipline, and has brought us lifelong community. Every single student should have access to the lifesaving power of sports. Today is so special in college volleyball. It is a day we all hoped we would be around to see happen. ✅Not only will we have a woman winning the D1 AVCA Volleyball Championship for the first time ever. ✅Not only do we have two female head coaches playing each other in the championship for the first time ever. ✅Not only have both of them have won national championships as players. ✅ Not only is one of the coaches actively going through chemo for cancer. We are seeing history happen. This is truly #herstory. This is #historyinthemaking. This is why we need women coaching women. This is why we need representation. This is why we need to see women in leadership. 2024 has been about women's sports. It has shown the importance of women's sports. The importance of women coaches. The importance of women's media rights. The importance of women being at prime time on tv. The importance of women's sports getting money. The importance of women being physical, aggressive, loud, strong, tall, or muscular. But most importantly women being treated with the respect as the coaches or athletes they are.
