Land-based producer’s shares halve in value following $60 million capital raise : Atlantic Sapphire, the Florida-based land-based salmon producer, saw its shares plummet, falling 55% from NOK 0.20 on Wednesday to NOK 0.098 (latest trading price as of Thursday morning.) The sharp decline came after more than 6.4 billion new shares were released into the market as part of a recent rights issue. The share price now sits below the issue price of NOK 0.1, at which the company recently raised $60 million in fresh capital. https://lnkd.in/dSmA-hSA

The decline in M&A activity over the last two years due, in part, to elevated interest rates has led to increased levels of aging dry powder for private equity firms. $341 billion of dry powder has been outstanding for at least three years, according to PitchBook. With mounting pressure to deploy this committed but uninvested capital in a falling interest rate environment, we expect M&A activity to pick up, increasing the private credit opportunity set.

It’s heartening to see unregulated wholesale offerings are getting a little less opaque with more firms using the junior bourses such as Catalist and Syndex New Zealand and publishing a broader range of documents helpful for the prospective investor. And a big shout-out to MyFarm Investments whose info memoranda and quarterly updates are something its wholesale peers should be aspiring to – plenty of detail to weigh up the relative risk and reward of those offerings…  https://lnkd.in/gZtgt4a8

This is typically not more than 2% per year.
