What if architecture could be a catalyst for profound social change? At the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia curated by Carlo Ratti, we're showcasing the Hope Village Community Building in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, a project by Hassell and charity foundation One Heart Foundation in collaboration with Eckersley O'Callaghan and the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC). The Hope Village Community Building creates a safe and empowering space for underprivileged girls and marginalised young women. Featuring an innovative timber tension roof and 3D-printed earth walls, the structure blends cutting-edge technology with sustainable materials to create a place of safety, shelter and purpose. This project is a powerful example of how design can contribute to building stronger, more resilient communities. We're proud to share this story at the Venice Biennale, highlighting the transformative potential of architecture on a global stage.
