How does a first-time Super Bowl advertiser stand out? For Häagen-Dazs, the answer is slowing things down — literally. “Typically you see super action-packed ads on the big stage,” says Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream CMO Elizabell Rivera Marquez. “We’re taking a very different approach.” The company’s ad features Fast and Furious actors trading high-speed chases for a quiet moment to savor an ice cream bar. The idea stemmed from a simple consumer insight: “The world is chasing urgency and speed; we’re all in desperate need of slowing down.” Authenticity was also key — so when Vin Diesel, a genuine fan of the brand, got involved, Marquez says the partnership felt like a perfect fit.
