Speaking of lack of perspective! Instead of calculating the employer’s cost of employee napping, we could also calculate the yield of employees who are fresh, energetic, and focused throughout the day. Employers shouldn't play this (dangerous) game. Imagine if all employees collectively calculated the cost of the overtime they work. It would likely be much higher than the cost of the occasional nap. An employer should trust and support its employees in their search for balance between optimal productivity and well-being. This is the basis for fruitful long-term relationships. If the trust between employer and employee is lost, it seems wiser separate ways and recruit new and trustworthy employees rather than calculate the cost of naps. #trustatwork #energizedemployee #bakkerpartners
