Breakfast Club of Canada is happy to be one of the recipients of the investment announced today by the School Food Infrastructure Fund (SFIF), led by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada/ Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada. Through this funding, the Club will support some community partners with improved infrastructure and equipment, from enhanced storage facilities to expanded food production capabilities. We sincerely thank Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada for this much-needed contribution, which will help us better serve children and communities across the country. Together with our pan-Canadian network of partners, we’re turning this funding into tangible solutions to strengthen community food systems. Let’s continue to work together to provide equal chances for every child to learn, grow, and succeed. For more info: https://lnkd.in/eBjeicpZ #FoodPolicy4Canada #BelieveInBreakfast

We are on track to a record year! From January - September 2024, local farmers at the 9 Sacramento-region farmers' markets we serve have redeemed $1,031,279 in combine CalFresh/EBT and Market Match revenue! This is money going straight into the wallets of small and mid-size California producers that would not reach them if we were not able to provide CalFresh access at these markets. These dollars help farms to survive at a time when California is losing family farms. They also stimulate local economies as small producers spend more of their money locally, keeping the funds circulating in California and bolstering our food system. 🌾 Supporting Local Wheat Production in Cornwall! 🌾 Seeing our wheat thrive in the summer sunshine is a testament to the hard work of our farmers. Cornish wheat is vital for a sustainable local food supply. It's encouraging to see local food supply featuring in election campaigns. However, we need more substantial investments from the Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) to truly level up our food and drink sector. Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly have received a reasonable level of funding post Brexit, although more targeted support for our agriculture and food production is essential. It’s so important as a county that we push for greater support to strengthen our local agriculture and ensure a resilient food supply chain. 👍If you agree!!! #LocalFarming #Cornwall #WheatProduction #Sustainability #SupportLocal
