Today is National Grief Awareness Day. If you’re experiencing grief or know someone who’s going through a loss, Goodreads members say these books can bring some solace. Books included here: ‘Grief Is Love’ by Marisa Renee Lee 'Crying in H Mart' by Michelle Zauner 'The Grieving Brain' by Mary-Frances O'Connor 'The Other Side of Sadness' by George A. Bonanno ‘It's OK That You're Not OK’ by Megan Devine 'Grieving While Black' by Breeshia Wade
I believe 'A Matter of Death and Life' by Irvin and Marilyn Yalom is also a must read when you struggle with grief and loss. It is a finely tuned cry that needs to be heard by those who are affected. 🖤
Notes on Grief by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is another amazing recommendation, especially for those navigating a sudden loss.
Very helpful 💕
I read Crying in H Mart right after my Lola (grandma in Tagalog) died and it helped a lot. ❤️
Also Stay by Julie Fingersh 💜
I support books on this subject matter. This is a topic we all need support with. Thank you to all the authors who write about grief -- your words mean a lot to us readers!
Baumgartner by Paul Auster is a beautiful exploration of grief. Cariad Lloyd's You Are Not Alone is also invaluable when you're grieving, and her podcast Griefcast helped me so much through multiple bereavements.
I'll keep this in mind.
Read Megan divine's It's Okay That You Are Not Okay, an amazing book where she has advocated the emotional change that a human goes through with their loved ones death and loss. Must read!
