For Dr. Shelley Roberts, Senior Research Officer at our Aerospace Research Centre, taking part in these valuable discussions is essential to contributing to safe and efficient transportation for all. In early December, Dr. Roberts was selected as the official Canadian delegate to participate in the Symposium on Accessibility in International Civil Aviation, hosted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Civil Aviation Organization and ACI World - Airports Council International. She joined other experts to discuss the challenges and efforts of governments, industry and other stakeholders, and how to enhance international collaboration for effective accessibility solutions. #NRCAero

What are the operational benefits of trajectory-based operations (TBO) ? The Global TBO Symposium jointly hosted by EUROCONTROL, the European Commission, EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency, SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking and SESAR Deployment Manager delivers answers. TBO is the cornerstone of the ICAO vision to enable greener and more predictable air travel while optimising the capacity of our skies in a safe manner. The introductory session of our TBO Symposium showcased the expected operational benefits of TBO and highlighted the opportunities that TBO will offer for operations in the future. Our Head of Airspace and Capacity Division Razvan Bucuroiu shared key insights into how TBO will improve productivity by halving the average working time to process 100 flights and enabling a 100% sector capacity increase by 2040.
