For nearly 70 years, slope instability at this highway has threatened roadway safety. GSI stepped in with a modern fix, replacing the failed soldier pile wall with a micropile-supported GCS® wall and comprehensive soil nail stabilization. We installed soil nails, horizontal drains, and reinforced shotcrete to secure the backslope, then drilled 30-foot micropiles to support the new structure. The 28-foot GCS® wall was built with compacted stone and geotextile layers and finished with a split-face block and a shotcrete cap.
