Another exciting GEM Energy project is nearing final completion! Located in Melbourne, Victoria - Lilydale Marketplace partnered with GEM Energy to install a massive 1.7MW of solar generation. With over 4,214 high quality REC panels, this installation will help to significantly reduce Lilydale Marketplace’s overall carbon footprint, along with helping to offset their high power demands. Overcoming the on-site challenges required adaptability, collaboration, and innovative thinking. Due to operational constraints, we pivoted from using a crane to a Geda lifter, ensuring materials were transported efficiently while maintaining safety and compliance. During this process, we managed a highly coordinated effort with between 15-20 contractors onsite at any given time, ensuring seamless workflow and minimal disruptions. Additionally, we worked closely with the shopping centre's operations team to minimize impact, scheduling work during selected hours to control noise and operational disturbances.
