Do you celebrate other people’s successes? Assuming that’s an easy yes. Colleague does a great piece of work, children achieve something at school - you praise and celebrate? But how often do you do this for you? How often do you look back down the huge ladder you have climbed and think ‘look at what I’ve achieved’. ‘Look at what I’ve got through’ It’s not boasting, It’s about reflecting, learning, motivating and resilience building. It helps you feel your efforts are for a reason, and it boosts confidence 💪 I often ask clients what they are celebrating, what are you celebrating this week?

Celebrating Small Wins to End the Year on a High Note December can be a busy and stressful time of year. Pausing to celebrate small wins and showing appreciation, even in small ways, can have a big impact. It boosts morale, strengthens connections, and reminds your team of their value and how much they matter. These moments of recognition also encourage a positive and appreciative culture that extends beyond the holiday season. Celebration and acknowledgment don’t have to be elaborate or time-consuming. They can be as simple as: Sharing a heartfelt thank-you for everyone’s contributions. Highlighting individual or team successes in a meeting or email. Encouraging team members to reflect on their own achievements. These gestures remind people that their efforts matter, especially during a time when stress or fatigue might overshadow the positives. As a leader, you have the power to close out the year with gratitude and connection, leaving your team inspired and energized for what’s to come. Take a moment to reflect: What small wins can you celebrate with your team this month, and how can you make those moments meaningful?

There is always a fine line between bragging and celebrating achievements. While bragging often involves exaggerating accomplishments, celebrating smaller wins is about recognizing and appreciating progress, no matter how minor. People will always have opinions and judgments about how you present your achievements. Some may see it as bragging, while others may view it as a healthy celebration of success. The key is to stay true to yourself and your values. Celebrate your small and big wins with pride. These celebrations are not just for you but also serve as inspiration for others. By openly acknowledging your achievements, you encourage a culture where incremental progress is valued and appreciated. This positive culture can motivate others to recognize and celebrate their own successes, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and support. Remember, no matter what you do, people will judge. So, focus on what makes you happy and fulfilled. Celebrate your journey, encourage others to do the same, and together, create a community that values and uplifts each other’s achievements. #I_had_a_good_summer_break

How often do you celebrate the little wins at work? We’re all running so fast toward big goals that we forget to stop and celebrate the moments that get us there. But here’s the truth: waiting for the “big win” is exhausting. It’s the small wins—the ones we often overlook—that keep us going. Think about the last time your team hit a milestone or solved a challenging problem. Did you take a moment to celebrate, or was it straight to the next task? What if those moments of recognition and celebration could recharge your team’s energy and remind them why they love what they do? Celebrations don’t have to be grand. A heartfelt thank-you, a shared creative activity, or even a toast at the end of the week can make a world of difference. When’s the last time you paused to celebrate?
