📌 New Policy Brief In our latest Policy Brief, we explore a promising approach to address data power imbalances: #DataSovereigntyClauses (DSCs) at the local level. The Brief consolidates key insights on DSCs—drawing on examples from the mobility sector in three cities. It examines how these clauses can enhance local governments' data sovereignty, empowering them to access and control public interest data. The Brief also delves into the obstacles, enablers, and potential areas for future research in the field. #WhyDataSovereigntyClausesMatter? They enhance the ability of local administrations to control #public #interest #data, allowing access to information #collected by #companies under contractual or legal agreements with the municipality.
