Culture plays a significant role in the success of any business – big or small. Peter Drucker’s old adage is true: “Culture eats strategy for breakfast!” So when you are scaling your business and the team is growing, it is vital to get the culture right. But what is the right culture, how do you assess what you have and what you need and how does it need to evolve as you scale-up? In this NEW toolkit Amanda Stainton outlines the importance of using process to understand and define your company culture, how to utilise Organisation Culture Theory, and how to adopt the common attributes of organisations that have high-performance cultures. https://lnkd.in/efFzq8-P

Understanding culture and its effect on the business really does matter. Business academic Peter Drucker once said, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” Big failures are often cultural. In this context, organizational culture matters to internal audit as having the right corporate culture is crucial to the sustainability and resilience of an organization. If we do not have an opinion on the effectiveness of culture, how can we truly give an opinion on the effectiveness of the internal control environment? #riskculturelab #riskculture https://lnkd.in/dGK-Xy8M

What does your company culture look like when things get tough? Lately, we’ve been diving deep into the topic of culture—especially with the purpose-driven organisations we work alongside. One of the most fascinating challenges they face is balancing heart (their deep care for others) with a commercial mindset that helps scale their impact. It’s a delicate dance, one that I think about often in the context of our own team at Three6. We may be smaller than many of our clients, but our culture is at the core of everything we do—it directly impacts the quality of our work. I recently heard something that really stuck with me: “Your culture is who you are when you’re tested.” And wow, is that true. Over the last 18 months, we’ve faced some challenges, and the way our team rallied together has only reinforced our values. It’s in those moments that I see just how important culture truly is. I’ve been reflecting on culture from a few different angles lately, and here are some of the factors we’ve been focusing on: 🧭 Shared Values and Beliefs: - A strong mission and vision give purpose and direction. - Core values guide how we behave and make decisions. 👥 Employee Experiences: - The work environment (both physical and psychological) contributes to culture. - Recognition and rewards? They go a long way in boosting morale. 🔗 Organizational Structure and Processes: - Decision-making and communication channels can either foster autonomy or create silos. 🌍 External Factors: - Industry trends, economic conditions, and societal changes are always influencing culture. We absolutely have things to improve in our culture, and it is always a process of continuous improvement, but it's definitely a part of the business that I am proud of. So, here’s a question: What’s your company’s culture like when you’re under pressure? Are you proud of it, or is there room to grow? Let’s chat culture—I'd love to hear your thoughts. #Leadership #Culture #OrganisationalStrategy #Teamwork #BusinessTransformation #ContinuousImprovement
