How can we bridge knowledge gaps to ensure comprehensive and inclusive sexual and reproductive health and rights (#SHRH) policies and programs? A recent webinar by our partners at International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) featuring our Director of Programs Shagun Sabarwal introduced 3ie's newest evidence gap map on SRHR research landscape. This meta-analysis tool aims to guide decision-makers, implementers, and researchers in identifying crucial gaps and needs in SRHR research across the global south. The evidence gap map encompasses over 1,000 studies on SRHR programs worldwide. Findings include how the SRHR evidence base is unevenly distributed across interventions and outcomes, and how there's clear knowledge gaps around key SRHR areas. Together, we can bridge these knowledge gaps! 📊 Did you know? In the 1990s, nearly 40% of maternal deaths in Uruguay were caused by unsafe abortions. This is no longer the case. A new publication in The Lancet Regional Health – Americas highlights how Uruguay’s innovative approach—combining self-care interventions and legal reforms—dramatically reduced maternal mortality while empowering women to take charge of their reproductive health. This woman-centered model demonstrates the transformative power of evidence-based policies and civil society collaboration to advance sexual and reproductive health rights. 📖 Read the full publication here: https://bit.ly/409S8QA 🎉 Congratulations to our HRP colleagues Antonella Lavelanet and Manjulaa Narasimhan for co-authoring this important study and contributing to this impactful study! #SRHR #SelfCare #HealthforAll

It is with great excitement that I join the Global community of SRHR thoughtleaders preparing for the 2025 International Conference on Family Planning (the largest scientific conference on family planning), to share this year’s official theme - “Equity Through Action - Advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights for all”. As a member of the Private Sector Sub-Committee for ICFP 2025 which is slated to hold in November at Bogota, Colombia, I had the incredible honor of contributing to the deliberations that shaped this year’s theme. Sitting with the International Steering Committee, I worked alongside global thought leaders, SRHR advocates, researchers, private sector leaders and public health leaders to debate and finalize the theme that will drive ICFP 2025. This experience has been both humbling and inspiring. It reaffirmed the critical role of youth voices in global conversations and the impact of meaningful engagement with the private sector in advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The theme reflects a collective vision that prioritizes innovation, equity, and action, in the field of family planning and global health, setting the tone for transformative discussions and meaningful collaborations at ICFP 2025. As we prepare for this landmark conference, I am grateful for the opportunity to represent the youth perspective and to work with such passionate and dedicated individuals. This milestone highlights the importance of cross-sectoral partnerships and the urgent need to bridge gaps in SRHR access and equity globally. Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to ICFP 2025, I look forward to seeing how this theme will inspire action and drive change across the globe! #ICFP2025 #SRHR #YouthLeadership #GlobalHealth #FamilyPlanning #PrivateSectorEngagement #Trailblazer #Advocacy

My recent interactions with grassroots women of reproductive age in Nigeria, revealed the prevalence of inequalities in the implementation of women’s sexual and reproductive health rights. This definitely calls for urgent action, as the wellbeing and life of more women is at stake, if stakeholders fail to intervene at the appropriate time. The #ICFP2025 will serve as one of the avenues to critically examine and advance the subject of #SRHR.

Accessing sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services in Australia's regional, rural, and remote areas presents complex challenges. To better understand these challenges, we are undertaking a two-part research project with Deakin Rural Health to identify gaps, highlight inequities, and inform strategic planning and advocacy efforts. The first part of this project is now complete. We conducted a systematic review of over 2000 articles to investigate the barriers and facilitators to access essential SRH services in Australia's regional, rural, and remote areas. The second part of our project is mapping sexual and reproductive health services in the Barwon South West region. The significance of this research lies in its potential to highlight the systemic barriers and address the pressing need for equitable access to SRH services in regional, rural, and remote areas. #WHSN #WomensHealth #WomensHealthServicesVIC #GenderWiseSavesLives #HealthyBudget4Women
