Foundation S’ Post

Casimira is a mother and teacher who lives in São Vicente, located about 550 kilometres off the coast of Senegal, West Africa 🌍 She also lives with Gaucher Disease type 1. In 2004, Casimira began her treatment for Gaucher Disease type 1 through our Rare Humanitarian Program. Whilst shipping to a remote location hasn't always been straightforward, she has remained on treatment for more than 20 years meaning she could celebrate her 50th birthday surrounded by friends and family. Casimira is one of more than 150 patients who have been receiving access to treatment through the Rare Humanitarian Program for 25+ years. We are dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by patients with rare diseases through innovative solutions and comprehensive support so that every patient can receive the care they deserve. #HumanitarianAid #FoundationS
