Ever wonder what it's like selling coffee for a living? Recently met up with Logan Mahoney to learn about his world at Atomic Coffee Roasters. Logan and I have a lot in common, starting with both attending St. John's Prep & Bentley University but it extends much further than that. Our views on customer relationships, the types of roles we enjoy, and how we build strong teams have lots of similarities 🙌. EXCITING JOB OPPORTUNITY! We’re looking to expand our busy Foodservice Equipment Sales Team, working at our HQ in Pitstone. Reporting to our Sales Office Manager, responsibilities will focus on assisting our nationwide customer base with their catering equipment requirements, with a proactive approach to maximise business opportunities. The role also includes general sales administration such as order processing and other supporting tasks, including assisting our Head of Marketing with website and product administration. The right candidate will be helpful and enthusiastic, able to work as part of a close team, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Previous experience within the foodservice or catering equipment industry would be advantageous, but not essential as we offer many training opportunities. A new bakery hired two salesperson to generate revenue by selling their new-flavoured cake. One has started selling by telling more about the cake to his customers. About the other one, he used one cake as a sample, letting his customers try a piece and decide whether to buy it or not. So, which one of them generated more sales? The second one. Same goes for your job application. You utilize platforms, such as LinkedIn, for networking and sharing your insights and experience, letting other professionals know your expertise and personality. Spent nearly my whole working life in different sales roles and having that last day of the month madness to hit targets/kickers and push my commission up not to mention the stress! I am a paper napkin salesman! So what? 🤔 I never thought I'd end up working in this, but sometimes life doesn't go as planned, and there's nothing wrong with that. 🤷♂️ I've never heard a child say they want to be a paper napkin salesman when they grow up, and I probably never will. However, I feel very fortunate to be in this line of work. Success isn't always found in following a predefined plan, but in adapting to circumstances and growing with them. As I've come to understand the market and its people, I've come to enjoy it. This job is helping me grow as a sales professional, an art I've always admired and consider one of humanity's most valuable qualities. Not everyone can do it, or at least do it well. A good salesperson is inevitable, and I believe I have all the ingredients to become one. I still have much to learn and work on, but I know I'm on the right path. Perhaps a child doesn't dream of selling napkins, but maybe they're attracted to being 'bosses' of a company, presidents of a football club, or even politicians who have to sell their speech to get votes. 📩 These high positions are, after all, salespeople who have leveraged their sales skills and intellectual capacity to reach those positions. I would definitely recommend this profession. Behind every product, no matter how small, there's a team of committed professionals making things happen.
