Our first in-person Wellness Day event at BPA in years and excited to see the turnout and to bolster connections and relationships while investing time in well-being. Yes we are a STEM focused organization and we have an incredible mission and in order to carry out our essential work, we need to have programs like these to support our people! Investing in People is a strategic goal at BPA and this is one way to invest in our workforce. Having a wellness day focused on connection, creativity, mindfulness, safety, and inclusion does make a difference. With all the research out there to back up the business case for wellness programs, it is my belief that when you can take care of your people, find the right ways to decrease stress, create a workplace that feels safe, where a person has a strong sense of belonging, and can do their best work along with supportive leaders you’re going to get so much more of a return from an employee’s effort. It makes sense from a human perspective and is a business necessity - not to mention the financial savings an agency can gain when employees don’t get sick as much, don’t get hurt and are both mentally and emotionally engaged in their very important work. Here’s a stat for you: We’re just renewing the wellbeing program for one of our clients, Signate Private Wealth Last year, we kicked things off with 35 employees… Next year? We’re starting with over 80 employees (maybe even 100 if things go to plan)! That’s a 128% increase! 🤔 Now, let’s be clear: we didn’t directly help them grow their headcount. What we did do was help them become the employer of choice ☑️ When they acquire a new company, one of the first perks they introduce is a wellness program—something their employees often didn’t have before.
