Today, I take on the Jaguar brand makeover and The Coca-Cola Company US and their AI-generated holiday ad. Jaguar: You have one shot when you are rebranding something iconic. And you want to get attention. So was this a genius move to get us all up in arms, but in doing so, talking up their Jaguar rebrand or the greatest hairball ever coughed up by a marketer? I offer my thoughts and what I would do if I had my hand on the steering wheel. Coke: In this case, I see the creative community as more up in arms than the consumer conditioned on CGI. I offer my advice to those in the transformative part of creative—you will have no limits to expressing your imagination—and those in the transactional part, who will have to embrace AI to remain part of the answer.
