Our Little Plates, Big Dreams Campaign aims to provide nourishing meals to children through your help. 🍽 1️⃣ Firstly, your donation allows us to provide children with balanced and nutritious meals, fulfilling their daily dietary requirements for proper growth. 2️⃣ Next, it helps break the cycle of hunger passed down through generations. With full stomachs, children can dream beyond survival. 3️⃣ Finally, good nutrition means clear minds focused in class rather than on empty stomachs - fueling their success. In the U.S., 13 million children live in food-insecure homes. For many of these kids, school lunch is their only meal of the day, yet the current funding of $4.43 per meal is simply not enough to provide the nutritious food they need to thrive. That’s why I’m participating in the $5 Boost Campaign—a mission to raise funds for HydroTowers and Independence Gardens' cooking program, Come and EAT IT. These initiatives bring fresh, healthy food directly into schools, empowering students to learn and grow. 💡 Here’s How You Can Help: - Donate just $5 to make a difference in a child’s life. Your contribution will help us reach our goal and ensure that kids have access to the healthy meals they deserve. 📅 If you’re in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, join us on September 14th for our Food Fight event—a chef competition focused on transforming school lunch. Can’t make it in person? No problem! Your $5 donation also gives you access to the virtual event, so you can watch the action live. Let’s come together to fight for a future where no child has to worry about their next meal. This time of year, we’re surrounded by festive meals, parties, and gatherings 🥳 - a season of joy and abundance for many. But for some, it’s a stark reminder of what’s missing. 🍲🍴 Over the years, I’ve done my bit for charity - whether it’s football matches for neonatal bereavement units or rollerblading 100 miles for Teenage Cancer Trust. But in today’s cost-of-living crisis, I know not everyone has the means to donate. That’s why I’ve been thinking about simple ways to make a difference. 🤔💡 Enter Tuppers4Suppers. (Watch the video for my attempt at explaining this!) 🍴🥡 Here’s the idea: carry a couple of empty Tupperware containers in your bag. Anytime you’re at a restaurant, café, or even a work meal and have excess food, pack it up instead of letting it go to waste. Then, share it with someone in need - a small act of kindness that not only helps reduce food waste but could make a big difference for someone who might otherwise go hungry. 🙏🏼 I get it - this idea isn’t perfect. There are logistical questions, sure. But walking past someone hungry and cold, knowing we’ve just thrown good food away, doesn’t sit right with me. This is about doing something instead of nothing. There’s also a very valid point around dignity and assuming the needs of the recipient. This requires conversation not assumption. Not everyone who may ‘seem’ to be in need of food is - their other needs may be met in other ways. 🤷🏻♂️ So, I’m inviting you to join me (with a considered approach) in this small action. Maybe we could all rethink how we approach food waste and kindness this season. Pack a Tupperware. Share food which would otherwise go to waste. Maybe we’ll start a movement. 🍲⏩ #Tuppers4Suppers 🥡⏩ What do you think? Could this idea work? Share your thoughts or your own ideas for tackling food waste and supporting those in need in the comments below. ⏬ #giving #charity #donations #foodbanks #foodpoverty

When you make your list of who to give to this season, please keep all our hungry and food insecure nOURish BRIDGEPORT neighbors in mind. Only with your generous donation will nOURish be able to continue distributing groceries, hot meals & fresh healthy produce to the thousands of people we serve every week. As we all know, food is expensive. The supply chain is broken. For our neighbors, adequate food is a daily struggle. They often have to choose between food and rent, or food and medicine. No one should have to make that choice. Together, we can do something about it. Let’s make a choice to love our neighbors. Have a relative who has enough? Give to nOURish in their name. Don’t know what to get your co-worker down the hall? Donate to nOURish in their honor. Remembering a loved one no longer at your family table? Contribute to nOURish in their memory. Overwhelmed by the world’s events? Help nOURish feed people that live on Bridgeport streets. Please put nOURish BRIDGEPORT on your giving list this year. What you will give is not only food – but HOPE! 👉 https://tr.ee/3Uyr88bKuZ #foodinsecurity #donation #giveback #feedtheneed #fooddrive #donatetoday #community #communityhelp #communitystrong #fooddesert #charity #charitablecause #charitablefoundation

💬 Having Rose Vouchers has given us better variety in our diet. Rather than giving the baby sugary snacks, I can offer him fruit. It’s brilliant that he’ll sit in his highchair for half an hour and eat everything. 🥬 To encourage families to eat fruit and veg, please make a donation to help fund the cost of Rose Vouchers. 🔗 https://buff.ly/3HQOyli

🎁 Why Charity Matters As we count down to Steps for Smiles, let’s take a moment to reflect on the true power of giving. Charity goes beyond donations—it’s about creating meaningful impacts for those in need and enriching the lives of those who give. ✨ The Benefits of Charity: - A Sense of Purpose: Giving back connects us to something greater than ourselves. - Improved Well-being: Acts of kindness release dopamine, the "feel-good" hormone, making us happier and more fulfilled. - Building Stronger Communities: Kindness strengthens relationships and fosters compassionate, resilient communities. - Inspiration to Others: Your generosity encourages others to join in and spread goodwill. When we walk for charity, we’re not just enhancing our own health and well-being—we're creating positive change in the lives of the children at Tâm Đức Orphanage. Even small steps can lead to meaningful transformation. 🚶♀️ Join us for Steps for Smiles: A Charity Walk for Tâm Đức Orphanage on December 28th. Together, let’s walk for a cause that truly matters. ------- #StepsForSmiles #CharityWalk #GiveBack #MakingADifference #WBusinessCenter
