AI for CFOs’ Teams - Finnt (YC)

🧐 As part of onboarding users, I've had insightful conversations with finance professionals from mid-sized to large companies. They've disclosed details about their internal processes for Budgeting, FP&A, Controllership, Audit, and Strategy. Some key takeaways include: - Processes are well documented (i.e., diagram flows, screenshots, instructions) - Despite data being everywhere, automation is almost non-existent - Highly skilled employees are bogged down by repetitive tasks - Many back-and-forth are required before any company-wide sharing - Errors still persist We even did some back-of-the-envelope math on time spent on these manual tasks. One person told me their auditing process alone represents over 43 working days per year. Another shared that abstracting and analyzing documents takes up about 52 working days annually. A third mentioned that just the fact of exporting from ERP, consolidating in Excel, and re-importing into the same ERP takes anywhere between 20 to 25 working days per year. While AI can't resonate (yet), it can automate these repetitive tasks probably up to 80 or 90% and increase accuracy at the same time. And us, humans, can go back to what we do best: THINK. 🧠

Spent 9y at HSBC and this is not a surprise to me... Even for highly skilled and efficient people around trading floors.
