Felidae Conservation Fund’s Post

Cheetahs no longer inhabit over 90% of their historic range, largely due to habitat fragmentation and urban expansion. Cheetahs require large territories, traveling vast distances, and they exist at low densities. One of the last remaining areas of suitable habitat is Tsavo National Park. This area is a unique and crucial region for cheetah conservation and will be integral to their success story.
