One of the most significant challenges for parents is providing appropriate support and therapies for their child with autism. The truth is, the cost of therapies can deter well-intentioned parents from taking the next step and doing what they believe is right. 💉 For instance, the cost of a 15-hour weekly ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapy, which is one-to-one, can range from RM 5,000 to RM 7,000 per month. This cost has not even include other expenses such as transportation, food, healthcare, diapers, and other necessities. Not to mentioned that research recommended that a child should receive a minimum of 25 hours of structure intervention a week. 💸 Imagine the financial stress and strain a family experiences to offer adequate support to their child. 🛡 This is where the importance of having a strong social support system and community becomes crucial. One such initiative is The Hope Project, a non-profit organization established by Early Autism Project (EAP) in 2016 to make world-class services accessible to all families, especially those in need. The Hope Project aims to create access to research-proven therapy for all children with autism. Since its inception, this initiative has organized numerous activities and events to raise awareness and acceptance of autism. They have also produced practical and useful content to support parents through their Autism At Home initiative, including blogs, videos (picture in this post), and assignments, all of which are available for free. Like any non-profit project, securing funds is a significant hurdle in ensuring these noble acts of kindness can continue. Here's how you can contribute and make a difference: 🙌 Share information about The Hope Project and their resources with those who may benefit. 🤝 Make a donation to The Hope Project to support their initiatives. 👕 Purchase merchandise from The Hope Project, as all proceeds go toward funding activities and events. By raising awareness about the challenges faced by parents and children on the autism spectrum and suggesting actionable ways to support initiatives like The Hope Project, we can collectively make a positive impact on the autism community. 💙 Let's join hands and make a difference in the lives of children with autism and their families. Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive world for everyone. Thank you for your support and advocacy. #KindnessStartWithMe #LoveSomeoneWithAutism #WorldAutismAwardnesssMonth

As a developmental disorder, autism has no known cure. While individuals with autism can undergo changes in their symptoms and function over time, the core characteristics of autism typically persist into adulthood. A striking new study published in JAMA Network Open reveals a 175% increase in autism diagnoses over the past decade, with adult diagnoses (ages 26-34) showing a remarkable 450% surge. At SOAR Partners and through our work with Blessings to Share Foundation (BTSF), we're witnessing this trend firsthand in Oklahoma. Our C.A.R.E.S Club is seeing an unprecedented growth in neurodiverse adults seeking community and support after aging out of school-based programs. The reality is sobering: As these numbers continue to climb, our support systems aren't keeping pace. The study projects a "substantial number of autistic people aging into adult care," yet many communities lack the infrastructure to support this growing population. In Oklahoma, we're at a critical juncture. Through BTSF's partnership with university experts, we've developed innovative programs supporting body, mind, and spirit for our uniquely abled community members. But we need more - more resources, more funding, and more commitment from our state to support adults with I/DD and ASD. Our C.A.R.E.S Club members show us daily what's possible when given the right support system. However, for every individual we help, we know there are many more without access to essential resources and community connection. If you're passionate about supporting neurodiverse adults, I urge you to get involved. Whether through advocacy, donations, or partnerships, every action counts. Considering signs that indicate an individual does not have autism. It’s important to note that autism is a complex spectrum disorder, and a definitive absence of autism cannot be determined solely based on certain signs or behaviors. Taking Action for Autism Today I'm talking about Autism Sprectum Disorder. At 35 I'm in the process of testing for autism in adults. Diagnosis for those socialized as girls has been and still is lower than diagnosis for those socialized as boys *see statistics below. Times are changing, with updated science and awareness, we're working on removing stigmas and providing a safe space for children and adults with ASD to be authentically themselves. With my story out of the way: Together, Microsoft and Nasdaq have formed one team called "Philly4Autism." There are three amazing ways you can help: https://lnkd.in/gjAkJQrq 1.) Share me! Awareness is key. 2.) Donate to the fundraiser. If you are a Microsoft employee, make sure you do so in the GIVE portal, Microsoft matches. 3.) Participate in the 5k, whether in person or virtual! There is flexibility to ensure anyone can join in on the fun. *According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in the United States (as of 2020): Approximately 4% of boys aged 8 years have been identified with ASD. Only about 1% of girls aged 8 years have received an ASD diagnosis1. "The Eagles Autism Challenge is a fantastic event dedicated to raising funds for autism research and programs." Let's help bring awareness and funds, by doing so, maybe less people will need to wait until adulthood to be properly diagnosed. I appreciate you all. #autism #ASD #fundraiser #challenge #eaglesautismchallenge

Concerned About Autism? Let ASDF Help! 🧩💙 If you're worried that a child you know may have autism, early detection is key. ASDF offers valuable resources to assist you in this journey. 🌈✨ For children between 18-24 months, we recommend using the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (M-CHAT). You can access the M-CHAT and scoring guides below to help you gather important information about your child's development. 📝 If your child shows concerning signs, take action by seeking a referral for a full assessment from a multi-disciplinary team at a Children’s Hospital or an autism unit at a university near you. Early intervention can make all the difference! 💪 #ASDF #EarlyIntervention Download here: https://bit.ly/3SXLfOR Give Us A Hand By Making A Donation. 💻: https://bit.ly/3R6c0zz 📞: 877.806.0635 #ChildHealth #ParentingTips #ChildDevelopment #InclusiveEducation #AutismSupport #AutismAwareness #SpecialNeeds #AutismCommunity #AutismAdvocate #AutismResources #AutismCare #AutismTherapy #AutismEducation #AutismAssistance

We are excited to announce our partnership with Comfa, a neurodivergent and sensory-friendly clothing line created by autistic 11-year-old, Max Palfrey. 💜 Inspired by Max's love for fidget toys and his sensory challenges, he set out to create the world's first t-shirt with built-in fidget Pop-Its, no attached labels, encased seams, and super-soft fabric! 👕✨ In an ITV interview, Max said: "It feels revolutionary, and it feels amazing, and a bit weird how no one came up with the idea before. Because it's at such high demand, you'd think someone would have already created it by now, but no, I guess I'm the person who did it." From the design process to selecting the perfect material, Max's input has always been at the heart of Comfa, driven by his determination to help other neurodivergent individuals. 🦋 Max's dad, Matt, added: "It's really important because a lot of the time, even other clothes that are designed for children who have additional needs are designed by adults, telling the kids what they need, and this is the opposite way round." At Caudwell Children, we believe in Comfa's mission to create a world where neurodivergent individuals are listened to and feel valued, which aligns with our own vision. 🤝 Join Max and his family tomorrow at our Family Fun Open Day, for a chance to get your own Comfa Fidget-T! 🎉 #CaudwellChildren #JoinTheChange #Charity #Neurodivergent #Autistic #Autism #FidgetToys #Sensory #SPD #SensoryProcessingDisorder #SensoryFriendly #SensoryFriendlyClothing #SensoryClothing #ADHD #AutismAwareness #SensoryDisorder #SensoryClothes #LabelFree #Seamless #SeamlessClothing #SeamlessTShirt

#faq While there are no specific physical signs that can definitively indicate autism, there may be certain features or characteristics that can be observed in some individuals on the autism spectrum. It’s important to note that these physical features are not present in all individuals with autism, and they vary greatly from person to person.
