Dr. Ashley Wagner from Probiotech International Inc. was a speaker at the Swine Feed Additive Summit web conference hosted by Wisenetix a couple of weeks ago. Her presentation delved into the impact of Monoterpenes on the Brain-Gut Axis in swine, highlighting the role of CCC in supporting the herd's ability to cope with various stressors they face. Ammonia in poultry houses! • When ammonia gas is exposed to moisture, it interacts to generate a basic, corrosive solution known as ammonium. • This aqueous ammonium solution is harmful to birds. • The ammonium corrodes the lining of the chicken's respiratory system, paralyzing or possibly destroying the epithelial cells' cilia. • Ammonia is a potent oxidative stressor that can produce irritability and inflammation. • Birds exposed to high levels of ammonia concentrations have deleterious effects on the development of the immune system. • Ammonia concentrations in chicken houses should not exceed 25 ppm. 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘇𝘆𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 Roughly 50 % of the total volume of feed for pigs and poultry worldwide is pelleted. There are good reasons for it as pelleting can prevent separation of feed ingredients, improve starch digestibility, and increase energy consumption of the animal. However, high pelleting temperatures can be a challenge for feed enzymes and even lead to a loss of activity. Thus, a high thermostability is key for enzymes ensuring they can show their full potential in the gastrointestinal tract. This is why we have placed great emphasis on thermostability in the development of our new mannanase Natupulse® TS. 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗙𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗞 Coccidiosis is a common problem for the poultry industry. Coccidiosis increases inflammatory responses, which allows intestinal bacteria to enter the bloodstream more easily, leading to NE. The ingredients in Elan®Cox improve the animal's immune system naturally that is essential to prevent coccidiose and NE. Healthier chickens show an improved feed conversion ratio (FCR) and a higher average daily weight gain (ADWG). A study in our own research facility showed that the application of Elan®Cox Liquid (500 mL/1,000L) results in a return on investment of 3.5, based on feed costs of €450/MT. #Olus #NatureforHealth

People often think of #biohacking as something straight out of science fiction—changing DNA to create mutants. But biohacking is more than that. It’s also about finding innovative ways to modify biological pathways. For example, molecules like lysolecithins can enhance digestion and maximize nutrient absorption. It might sound complex, but at its core, it’s about understanding biology, working with it, and creating real added value. What’s your take on the potential of biohacking in animal nutrition?
