Not to sound like a broken record, but perhaps a significant part of the answer to the 400 Billion NOK question lies right in front of us, in the form of around 155 000 oil and gas workers today working in “oljå”. A workforce with education, competence and experience transferable and applicable to the emerging clean energy industries. Not only CCS, hydrogen, and offshore wind, but also geothermal, solar, and hydro. All emerging industries with vast opportunities ahead. Of all places, Texas and Houston, have made this realization, and have managed to get policymakers, regulators. tax authorities, educational and financial institutions on the same page.
