We have some top CoS candidates who are totally uninterested in remote roles because they want to be co-located with their CEO, and I think this is a smart preference. Whether it's fair or not, getting face time in with your Principal puts you at a huge advantage to progress in your role as a Chief of Staff and beyond (promotion to Head of or VP Ops / COO / etc.) It's never "all-else-equal", but if a candidate is between a remote option and hybrid -- and career progression is super important to them -- hybrid is the way to go. #chiefofstaff #recruiting

Two fulfilling Urban Innovation job opportunities where you get to build on an initiative that has already had a significant impact.

Job Search Priorities: Things that are important to me in my job search: 1. Organizational culture - One that values calculated risk-taking and positive change, where calling someone “a disruptor” is a high compliment. 2. Core values - Among them is being people-centric and prioritizing creating structures and processes that give individuals a path to growth and success and the tools to get there. 3. The work - The goal is building rich, stable products that are highly customer-centric. Things that are not important: 1. Title - I don’t care if the title is Sr. Product Manager, Sr. Manager, Director, Lead, Principal, chief cook & bottle washer. I just want to do good work with good people and have it be valued. 2. People manager or IC - I bet if I did a poll, most people would say that their career plans don’t limit them to being solely in the people-manager or IC tracks. Whatever type of role I end up in, I’m going to enjoy those things about it I always enjoy and I hope I won’t be pigeonholed into one or the other. 3. Market - So many job descriptions require experience in a specific market, but the recruiters and hiring managers have to know that they are limiting the number of candidates dramatically and may be eliminating candidates who could ramp on the market quickly and become a major asset. I’d love to get into SAAS, Security, or another area and feed the knowledge-hungry beast that is my brain. Things I’m flexible on: 1. Office- In-office, hybrid or remote - doesn’t matter to me. I love my home office and the 25 foot commute, but I also miss in-person collaboration. 2. Location - I would like to stay in Charlotte, so while Charlotte area in-office and hybrid and all remote roles are preferred, for the perfect role, I’m open to relocation to most US states, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand
