I became an engineer because I was always interested in seeing an idea go from conception to construction. I also thought it would be pretty cool to point to a completed project in the future one day and be able to say that I helped design that. I think my favorite project at Edges so far has been an intersection improvement project at County Road 350 N and 700 W in Hancock County. For this project, we're taking the current intersection and transforming it into a roundabout. I had the opportunity to do all of the 3D modeling and template creation, which to me is the part of the design process where you really see the project come to life. If I could give students a piece of advice, I would tell them to just be curious, ask a lot of questions, figure out which part of engineering you like to do, which part of engineering you don't like to do, and more importantly, just have a willingness to learn, try new things, and challenge yourself a little bit.
