I read something today that compared the battle between "everything on premise" or "everything in the public cloud" to the "hard right" and "hard left" in politics. The reality is that 80% of the voters are typically in the "sensible centre" (although let's not get started on any particular upcoming election!). So it's not a huge surprise to me that, when it comes to deciding where to host a workload has come back to "the sensible centre" - and there are fewer "fanatics" preaching about why everything has to be on the public cloud or your own DC. The #hybrid #cloud message came through loud and clear at Nutanix Next - it is now far easier to deploy, monitor and manage hybrid cloud environments. Workload portability is now easier than ever (for many workloads - but not all!) - the significant time and effort to move between hosting environments has been reduced. Tech leaders can now decide on the best location of a workload for the business and/or customer - not for the infrastructure management team or the managed services partner.
