As I approach almost two decades as an Executive Assistant - a role I deeply value for its dynamism and the unique opportunities it has provided - I want to share a reflection that may resonate with many in similar positions. Throughout my career, I've often been labeled as "the assistant of," suggesting I'm merely a subsidiary to someone else. There's a tendency for some to view me as standing in the shadow of those I support, where my achievements are seen not as my own but as extensions of another's success. The label "Executive Assistant," while a part of who I am, sometimes overshadows the individual contributions and the professional identity I've worked hard to build. I view the relationship between an EA and an executive as inherently collaborative. I don't exist merely because of the person I support; rather, we both contribute crucially, each of us a vital cog in a larger mechanism. Over the past decade, I've been fortunate to collaborate with Konstantinos Apostolatos who recognized and celebrated my capabilities and successes. I find it essential, particularly in roles often seen as 'merely' supportive, to assert and celebrate our own professional accomplishments and individuality. Here’s to all the EAs who excel and push boundaries, ensuring their unique contributions are recognized. Let's continue supporting each other's distinct identities and achievements! #ExecutiveAssistant #CareerReflection Photo by Prateek Katyal on Unsplash

🌟 Reflecting on my journey as an executive assistant! It's been a whirlwind of learning and growth, and I'm excited to share a glimpse into this dynamic role. Being an executive assistant goes beyond managing calendars and emails. It's about building strong relationships, understanding priorities, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. One thing I've come to appreciate is the trust and collaboration that define this role. Working closely with top management, executive assistants learn the importance of clear communication, attention to detail, and staying one step ahead to anticipate needs. What's most rewarding is being a strategic partner, contributing to organizational success by streamlining processes and supporting strategic initiatives. It's a role that demands adaptability, resilience, and a passion for making a meaningful impact. Let's celebrate the diverse talents and contributions of executive assistants everywhere! #ExecutiveAssistantLife #Teamwork #CareerGrowth 💼✨

The Versatility of the Chief of Staff Role The lines between a Chief of Staff and an Executive Assistant often blur, and that’s what makes this role so dynamic. As a Chief of Staff, I’ve worn many hats—some days, I’m handling travel, calendar management, and email control, just like an Executive Assistant. On other days, I’m driving business operations, managing day-to-day tasks, and overseeing strategic initiatives that shape company outcomes. The beauty of this role is the variety. We don’t just focus on one function—we get to be a connector, a problem-solver, and a strategic planner all in one. We have the opportunity to be: An Executive Assistant (handling logistics, calendar coordination, etc.) A Recruiter (identifying top talent for the team) An Operations Manager (ensuring smooth business processes) A Project Manager (leading initiatives that drive results) And the list goes on. This level of involvement allows us to have a broad impact on the success of the business, while honing a diverse skill set. Stop seeing this as a bad thing or judging by titles. The Chief of Staff role isn’t defined by one task—it’s about jumping in wherever needed to make things happen. The ability to flex between different responsibilities is a strength, not a weakness. It’s a chance to build a diverse career and contribute meaningfully to a company’s success. The Chief of Staff role is more than just a title—it’s about taking on challenges across the board and contributing to the business in ways that go beyond a traditional job description. #ChiefOfStaff #ExecutiveAssistant #VersatileRole #Leadership #BusinessOperations #CareerGrowth

3 reasons why you need an Executive Assistant. Being a founder is exciting but demanding. Balancing strategy, sales, and operations can be overwhelming. An Executive Assistant is more than just an admin; they're a strategic partner. Having an EA helps you: ✅ Reclaim up to 30% of your time for strategic initiatives. ✅ Enhance productivity by focusing on high-impact activities. ✅ Gain a trusted advisor who understands your vision and supports your goals. The keyword is to work smarter, not harder. Are you missing out on these essential benefits? It's time to invest in an Executive Assistant. P.S: How often do you delegate roles?

Tuesday December 17, 2024 "General" Manager is actually a good thing "Jack of all trades, master of none", an oldie but a goodie. Is it a compliment, a back handed compliment...or is it actually a detriment to be characterized this way. Well, for small-minded people, perhaps... Ouch. Sorry, but not really. The best of us have spent our careers as "generalists", and while that may mean we haven't "mastered" all of the things we are good at, it doesn't mean we aren't skilled enough to make a difference and bring value. Value comes in many forms, and for the generalists among us, those "Jacks" (or Jills!) in our midst there is great value in wearing multiple hats! Ahh, there it is. "Wearing multiple hats" is often a compliment, a skill, a trait valued in most organizations. In trying times, during fantastic growth or just the good busy times, we are often asked to show our skills in different areas and add value by mastering multiple things -- some outside of our normal competency. That's what those of us generalists do every time, so let's not treat one as a positive and one as a negative. Often, I hear from recruiters and other hiring managers that if a candidate presents themselves as a generalist that is a BAD thing. Why? So let's show love to those among us who are of the general manager types and let's value their abilities to be competent at multiple things. Especially since we know that is what we will ask of them ANYWAY! BTW, I have had many roles over my 40+ years, very accomplished roles. I succeeded in most (no, not all..) and have enjoyed many of those roles. Two of my perhaps top 3 favorites roles, both very successful, were at Carestream Dental and AdvancedMD. My title in both places? General Manager. #morningminute #GeneralManager #generalist
