The higher education analysts said it couldn't be done: Record enrollment at a small, private, rural and faith-based institution in Bismarck, North Dakota. An institution that just a year earlier had its top two sources of students offered free tuition if they attended an in-state public university instead. How did the University of Mary and President Monsignor James P. Shea deliver record fall enrollment facing these kinds of headwinds? By deeply analyzing their data-rich environment for clues into what kinds of students enroll *and succeed* at UMary long term, creating a virtuous cycle that builds over time. Read on to find out how UMary was able to pull it off, assisted by their long-term partnership with Dynamic Campus. #highereducation #highered #enrollment

It's not too early to start thinking about what comes early in college admissions. Many schools in the southeast, and even The University of Texas at Austin have early action and early decisions coming up in mid-October. It's time to take a look at the schools on your college list and plan accordingly. #collegeadmissions #collegesanduniversities #georgia

🔍 Key insights on college completion for commencement season from my Complete College America colleague Charles Ansell and Michelle Dimino from ThirdWay. - Far too many students who start college don't graduate (~40%!!!), underscoring the need to focus on completion efforts. - By 2031, 72% of the U.S. population will need a postsecondary credential, yet only 54% currently hold one. - Enrollments in bachelor’s degrees and community colleges haven’t fully rebounded post-pandemic. - States and systems that are prioritizing proven student success reforms are seeing substantial gains in completion. - FAFSA completion is crucial for boosting enrollment and completion. #StudentSuccess #HigherEd #CollegeCompletion #CollegeCompletionDay

Today, friends from the Helios Education Foundation and Center for Postsecondary Success released findings about the state of AA transfer in Florida. While the transfer rate overall has remained steady at 65%, there is still room for improvement. As FCS institutions contemplate offering specialized AA transfer degrees, a few lessons to keep in mind ⬇ 📖 Key course completion matters. Students who took and passed Gateway math and students who took and passed Gateway English were more likely to transfer than students who did not earn credit in those courses in the first year. ⚙ Continous enrollment matters. Students who completed their AA in 6 terms had a 73% transfer rate, compared to a 45% transfer rate for students who took more time to complete (10 or more terms). 📊 Gaps in student outcomes persist. While there have been gains in success among all student subgroups, substantial gaps have widened over time among Black and low-income students.
NEW RESEARCH 🏫 While Florida college enrollment rates are down, students earning associate of arts degrees are still transferring to four-year universities at strong rates. LEARN MORE: https://ow.ly/7wnt50RY3WE #WeBelieveHelios

Ever wondered what it would be like to be a student at the University of Oxford? Well, that’s exactly the experience we will give 100 of our young people from underrepresented backgrounds tonight, as we take them to Oxford for an overnight residential stay. Students will stay in halls, attend taster lectures, network with current students, and fully immerse themselves in the Oxford University experience. This is part of our long-term partnership with Wadham College. But this residential is more than just a visit; it’s a life-changing opportunity. By walking, living, and sleeping in these historic halls, our young people will see their dreams as tangible and achievable. Statistics show that students who engage in university environments are significantly more likely to pursue higher education. A degree, particularly from a prestigious university, continues to be a significant factor in long-term prosperity. It has the power to break the cycle of poverty. Our thanks to Wadham College for their generous support in making this possible. This reflects our joint efforts towards increasing social mobility and empowering underrepresented young people to believe that they, too, belong in places like this. #EducateEngageEmpower #AccessForAll #FutureLeadersUK #WadhamCollege #SocialMobility

With about a 30/60 male to female student ratio at higher education institutions across the nation, many are asking — Why are less men choosing to pursue college degrees than in years past? Hear the perspective of our president, Mike Gavin in the short video linked below! #TheDeltaWay #HigherEd #CommunityCollege
President of Delta College, Aspen Presidential Fellow, Author of two books on Race and Higher Education. Founder of Education for All
We Delta College continue the work of equitable access, retention, and graduation. This segment I discuss how fewer men are going to college nationally and locally--but Delta is retaining and graduating those that come to us at a successful rate. We continue to do the work of equity, looking at data where gaps exist, and male access to college is one we are intentionally seeking to improve. https://lnkd.in/eTR9xrSb
