"It's a ridiculous limitation on an island, it's a ridiculous limitation on our capital city and tourism offering." Once again we are hearing this week how much the passenger cap on Dublin Airport is hurting Irish businesses and tourism. The concerned words above were shared by Donal O’Keefe, CEO of the Licensed Vinters Association, which represents worried pubs throughout Dublin. These words were echoed in Dublin Chamber's latest Business Outlook Survey, published today, which highlights how important the removal of the cap is to Dublin’s competitiveness as a global city and how a speedy lifting of the cap is needed to ensure that "the necessary infrastructure at Dublin Airport will be developed quickly enough to handle the anticipated growth. "Expansions in runway capacity, terminal facilities, and transport links to and from the airport will be critical to ensuring that the benefits of the policy change are fully realised," the Chamber says. Our business and tourism communities agree - it's time to remove the cap!
