Thrive Capital, Microsoft, Apple, and Nvidia are expected to be key investors in the upcoming round of additional funding for OpenAI. The amount expected is $6.5bn (at a $150bn eval). If you think you can add some of your pocket money, you'd need to have large pockets - the min. is said to be $250 million. Even though these are staggering numbers, the much bigger issue for me is the lack of electric power we are facing for all the new data centers (and no, I did not make that up).
