That's a wrap on HR in Hospitality Atlanta! One of our core initiatives this year at Beekeeper is to #connect and connect we did! Attending a conference as an attendee and vendor without a booth was a really interesting experience. Instead of standing in a booth waiting for people to walk up to us, we got to sit in sessions and really learn about some of the current issues our customers are facing today. Here are a few of my learnings from the week: Visa and Immigration topics are front of mind to many of our HR leaders. The restrictions here have a direct impact on their seasonal workforce and providing great experiences to our guests. Some leaders are taking their own personal time and lobbying on The Hill to have their voices be heard. Culture trumps everything, and it starts at the top. The hiring market is incredibly tight. How do you stand out when the pay scale is even? Leadership development programs and cultivating and growing your next generations of leaders from within is critical. Both stay and exit interviews, surveying team members early and often play a factor in retention. The future of hospitality is already here. The leaders that are agile and constantly adapting to the changing market are going to remain the leaders. The teams that focus on the status quo and doing things the way that they have always been done aren't going to make it. Thank you HR leaders for letting us learn from you all this week.
